Everything in the cottage was top quality

"We stayed between Christmas and New Year.

Beautiful cottage in a great location next to a stream. Our hosts, Nikki and Barry, were amazing and very thoughtful - we had a welcome pack of fresh bread, homemade jam, eggs, butter and Welsh scones.

As we had our dog with us, Barry brought us extra towels and throws - nothing was too much trouble.

Everything in the cottage was top quality and we would definitely recommend it."

We couldn't wait to get back to the Mill in the evening

“We regularly visit Ruthin as we have a family farm in the area and when we come to visit we need somewhere to stay. We’ve stayed in a few different places over the years but can honestly say that The Mill has been our favourite and we are already planning our next visit.

The Mill is so cosy and in a gorgeous setting. Every day after visiting the farm we couldn’t wait to get back to the Mill in the evening and sit in front of the wood burner and enjoy a mince pie from the generous welcome pack.

Barry and Nikki are super hosts, they were so welcoming and gave us advice on dog walking routes and places to visit.

Can’t wait to return!”

A fabulous long weekend stay

"We enjoyed a fabulous long weekend stay with our two girls at Hafannedd at the end of October. We were made to feel very welcome by Nikki and Barry who were excellent hosts.

We stayed in The Cottage, which we won in auction for the wonderful charity Challengers (disability-challengers.org) who provide play and leisure for disabled children.

We can’t thank Challengers enough for the auction and also Nikki and Barry for donating the stay.

There is so much to do nearby in the beautiful country of Wales… we are planning our next trip already!"

We've had a great time at your lovely cottage.

It's a very beautiful cottage with a fantastic stream next to the cottage. When we arrived Nikki showed us around and told us that we could use the summer house for reading. There's lots of books, board games and information leaflets and there are outdoor spaces that we can sit and relax in the garden. My 14 year old son enjoyed walking into the river and we met the two lovely and friendly donkeys in the next field too.

The cottage is comfy and very clean with everything we need. Most of our friends saw the photos and said it's a wonderful cottage and they want to visit.

And also thank you for beautiful yellow roses, a card and a welcome pack (milk, bread, butter, eggs, welsh cakes, and especially the best homemade blackcurrant and apple jam I ever had, I love it!

We'll visit again next time when we go to north Wales. I would recommend this cottage to everyone."

"Our recent stay at this Airbnb was an absolute dream come true!

From start to finish, everything about this experience was outstanding. The property itself was a stunning oasis nestled in the heart of nature, especially the private decking area overlooking the stream where I enjoyed my morning coffee.

The interior was not only beautifully furnished but also incredibly cozy and inviting. Every amenity we could think of was provided, making us feel right at home. We had waiting for us homemade jam, local bread from the bakery, Welsh cakes, milk & fresh flowers.

What truly set this Airbnb apart was the exceptional hospitality of the hosts, Nikki and Barry and their beautiful dogs. From the moment I booked, they were prompt and attentive in their communication. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. "What can I say about this beautiful place that would do it justice?!

A completely wonderful stay! Nikki and Barry are two of the best hosts we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, kind and thoughtful to a tee.

The welcome on arrival is unrivalled, the pack; bread, eggs, jam, butter, Welsh cakes and milk, was much appreciated and such a lovely touch. The Mill is perfect, all on one level, clean and homely and the gardens and summer house are so beautiful and relaxing .

If you have time, pop from the garden to the river and help finish off the dam!

On top of all of this, the location is perfect for so many areas of outstanding natural beauty, the mountains and the beaches too, please go and experience it for yourself, you won’t regret it!"

A perfect weekend

“We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Nikki was there to greet us and show us around the cottage and grounds when we arrived.

It’s such a gorgeous place, the perfect base for getting out and about around North Wales, but also nice enough to stay in and relax with plenty of outdoor space to explore.

Our little boy loved paddling in the stream while we watched him from the outside decking.

A perfect weekend.

We will return again I’m sure!”

WOW..... What a hidden Gem

"We had a lovely week's stay in "The Mill" part of this gorgeous property. Wish it could have been longer. Like home from home.
We were greeted by owners Nikki & Barry who were so friendly and had already kitted out the kitchen with local eggs, butter, milk, bread and homemade jam.
The rooms were spotless and beds super comfy. Even the log burner fire was made up ready in case we fancied a romantic fire a glass of wine... but never got the chance.
The kids had many fun hours playing in the property's stretch of river building stone dams and getting wet. Memories that will stay with them forever.

Can't recommend this place enough and definitely won't be our last time there.

What a fantastic place to stay

"We spent a week in the cottage at Hafannedd. The owners, Nikki and Barry were very welcoming and helpful.

The cottage is set in beautiful grounds right next to the River Clwyd. It's ideal for walkers and nature lovers. The cottage itself is nicely decorated and furnished. We were very comfortable.

Hafannedd is in a lovely area and also well placed to head to Chester or the heart of Snowdonia. We would highly recommend it. We hope to visit again."

Lovely 2 week stay

"We just got home from a lovely 2 week stay in the mill, a great space and big enough for a family of 5 - which is always nice. Nikki and Barry are great and happy to help with anything, from recommendations of where to go, helping with bags to chatting with 3 super talkative small people.

Set in such a beautiful place, if you like nature, walking, scenic spaces and getting away for a bit you couldn't go far wrong."

"We would stay here again in a heart beat. Having travelled to many countries and stayed in many self catering properties, this cottage provided everything you could need to ensure your stay was comfortable."

Perfect stay!

"We hired the cottage overlooking the river for two nights as a fathers day treat for my dad. The cottage has been beautifully renovated to a 5* star standard, and is a lovely place to spend some time in. The French doors in the kitchen open onto a decked area with outside dining over the water which is really relaxing and a great spot for dinner and a glass of wine or two."

"Absolutely gorgeous cottage in an idyllic setting. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a short break away. Was cosy especially with the log burner on and the decking out the back over looking the river was beautiful. I would definitely stay again if in that area."

"Enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at The Mill with family over from New Zealand. Warm, welcoming, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. So close to all the magnificent scenery and countryside of North Wales, we couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone."

"We stayed here for the weekend with our 2 young children and had a perfect weekend. The local walks are beautiful and perfect for small children."

Exceeded expectations spectacularly

"We booked for easy access to the Clocaenog Forest for Rally Wales. We were pleasantly surprised to find such an extensive and beautiful apartment. It was very well equipped, with everything from fresh eggs to wood for the wood burner. It was such a warm, welcoming and comfortable place that we almost didn't want to go out! I cannot recommend this place enough."

A welcome retreat

"Just returned from an excellent 1 week stay in the Cottage at Hafannedd with my wife and 2 children.

Our cottage by the stream was an ideal base for our week's activities in North Wales. Conveniently located between Ruthin, Corwen, Llangollen and Bala it was a great spring board for everything we had planned."

Fantastic stay to discover North Wales

"We stayed for 3 nights in the studio room. The room is huge and well maintained.

The place was easy to find and ideally located with Chester, Snowden and the North coast within an easy 45 minute drive.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to discover north wales then I can't recommend this highly enough. Top marks and we will definitely be back."
